Ninth Graders Serve in Community Gardens

Posted on October 6th, 2017

On Thursday, October 5th, St. Paul’s Freshman Class headed out to work in several community gardens around Mobile. Most students worked at Taylor Park to prepare their beds for fall planting. The students weeded, made rows, raked, shoveled, mulched, and moved rocks to build garden walls. Chaperones Zac Lambrecht, Anna Moore, Pat Lubitz, Tyler Kerns, John Shaw, David Armstrong, Natasha Kendall, Marion Boteler, Averell Stuart, Leslie Lerner, and Laura McGee worked alongside this group. Scott McDonald, Linda Garver, and Allison Evans took a group to Light of the Village in Prichard to weed, plant, dig a trench for a water line, and mulch. The last group went with Kelli Etheredge and Justin Clark to Victory Teaching Farm to prepare two raised beds for fall planting.
